Scientology-Supported Teens Target 500 Shops in Anti-Drug Effort in Scientology-Backed Drug Prevention Drive
Youth activists from the Truth About Drugs initiative in Denmark have mobilized in the city of Copenhagen to distribute factual drug education materials across more than 500 businesses. Their outreach, supported by Scientology volunteers, revitalizes long-running efforts to raise awareness about drug risks among youth.
Over the course of 2025, young Scientology-affiliated activists aged 10–20 visited hundreds of businesses to ask them to carry copies of *The Truth About Drugs* booklet. The materials — produced by the Foundation for a Drug-Free World — offer clear information on the dangers of drug use, including marijuana, alcohol, and synthetic substances.
“They are showing adults they care,” said Giulia, a public affairs coordinator. “They’re not just handing out flyers — they’re educating a community.”
Recent statistics support the urgency of their mission. A new report by the Aarhus University’s Drug Research Center revealed that use of marijuana by Danish youth aged 15–25 has fallen from 44 percent to 31.6 percent over the past decade. Among young men, use dropped from more than half to one-third.
According to analysts quoted in a recent government health report, this change is partly due to increased education and a decline in peer pressure around drugs.
The Danish arm of the campaign is part of a broader, global initiative that has operated in Denmark since the early 1990s. With support from volunteer groups affiliated with Scientology, *Truth About Drugs* booklets have been distributed at large-scale public and sports events.
